Cross training incorporates elements of other sports or disciplines into your own unrelated field. For us, this looks like branching off from solely training in the dance studio to including workouts based around strength and conditioning. Injuries are a big issue in dance. Muscle fatigue is a very common cause of injury. When fatigue sets in, your alignment and technique are compromised and its only so long until an injury ensues. Fatigue results from insufficient levels of energy. We want to help you increase the capacity of your energy systems to maximize your performance and avoid injury. By improving your cardio vascular fitness and strength, you significantly reduce your chance of injury.

Artisan Athletes was founded to help dancers achieve their full potential through cross training. We saw a gap between classical dance training and what the latest studies showed. We want to help bridge the gap so dancers can be more well-rounded athletes, which will lead to less injuries, improved performance and longer careers. Injuries had a big impact on our sporting aspiration as younger athletes and we wish we could go back and educate ourselves. At Artisan Athletes we seek to do just that, give you the training we wish we'd had, so you can perform at your very best.
